Updating tnsnames

Is there anyway in which I can keep these files to some other area in the filesystem. If you are using ONE listener for all databases (you can use the listener from 817 to service and 815 database for example), you would put them in one place. There a a few ways to do this, but one way (the one covered here) is to set an environment variable, TNS_ADMIN, on the client, whose value is the UNC path to the folder that contains the files. The script reads a list of servers from a text file that you provide, reaches out and sets the environment variable on each server.%ORACLE_HOME%/lib32%PSP%%ORACLE_HOME%/bin%PSP% I was able to solve this by updating the below BAT1D, BAT1***.world = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST =(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = *******au)(PORT = 1521))) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = BAT1D))) to below by removing the underlines text. The file is used to map connection information for each Oracle service to a logical alias.

I have added the 10G listener to 9idb oracle home and here is how my file looks like. ORA Network Configuration File: c:idb2\network\admin\# Generated by Oracle configuration tools.LISTENER = (DESCRIPTION_LIST = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1)) ) (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = sumbul)(PORT = 1521)) ) ) ) SID_LIST_LISTENER = (SID_LIST = (SID_DESC = (SID_NAME = PLSExt Proc) (ORACLE_HOME = c:idb2) (PROGRAM = extproc) ) (SID_DESC = (GLOBAL_DBNAME = taha) (ORACLE_HOME = c:idb2) (SID_NAME = taha) ) ) SID_LIST_LISTENER_10G = (SID_LIST = (SID_DESC = (SID_NAME = PLSExt Proc) (ORACLE_HOME = c:g DB) (PROGRAM = extproc) ) ) LISTENER_10G = (DESCRIPTION_LIST = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC)) ) (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = SUMBUL)(PORT = 1525)) ) ) ) When I checked the status of listener, both the listeners are running : C:\lsnrctl status LSNRCTL for 32-bit Windows: Version 10.1.0.2.0 - Production on 15-AUG-2004 :04 Copyright (c) 1991, 2004, Oracle.
